Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope you are all enjoying this ‘loved-up’ day – if you are enjoying it with your special someone, or just with friends. I have to admit I am not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, as I believe that you should express your love and cherish your loved one every single day of the year, not just one day.. Of course, I always get Luke a card, but I find it quite hard to buy gifts for him, as with it being so close after Christmas, and his birthday is three weeks after Christmas, and two weeks before Valentine’s – he’s pretty much had everything he wished for. Therefore, I always try to hand make something for him that he will still love just as much, and they always say..
“The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”
It’s quite true!
With Shrove Tuesday coming up (Happy Pancake Day!), pancakes have always been a favourite of mine ever since I was a child, smothering them in syrup and sugar. I have now learnt a super easy way to make pancakes, but also not upset my body with ingredients that react badly to my insides. If you ever feel bloated after you have eaten pancakes, these recipes are ones to try! They are light and fluffy, but so delicate on your sensitive tummy. I have found two ways to make super delicious but easy pancakes.
Cleaning our makeup brushes is one of those annoying things we have to do, but a must. Makeup brushes surprisingly hold so much bacteria and ideally should be cleaned weekly if you wear makeup everyday, and fortnightly if only a few times a week – the thought of thousands of bacteria being spread around my face every time I apply makeup makes me cringe!
My nail polish collection has grown quite rapidly over the past 18 months, to the point I have to clear out some old ones soon! I discovered Essie around 2 years ago, and I was instantly impressed as I had tried several brands and they all chipped so quickly or the colours weren’t very vivid. I bought a base coat and top coat on my first purchase as I had heard so many good things about them making your nails strong and polish chip-free for weeks: it did just that! I was amazed that I finally had long nails again, and the fact I didn’t have to paint them every other day.
New Years Resolutions are those where you want to change, but you have to get that drive to change. I have often made resolutions and within days, they have been forgotten about and I’m back to my old ways – this year I wanted to change that.
This year I decided to be more realistic, so I thought I would share these with you. Let me know if you make any!
2015 was full of many incredible moments. I conquered some fears (which should always happen at least once a year I think!), visited some beautiful places, made some amazing new friends and feel like I have grown within myself.
People often ask me for advice when they are interested in getting a pug – where to go, what to look for, what to ask etc.. There is a lot of things to look for when getting any breed of dog, not just a Pug puppy. Research is key when getting a dog, especially a puppy as they take a lot of time and patience.
