Valentine’s Treats

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I hope you are all enjoying this ‘loved-up’ day – if you are enjoying it with your special someone, or just with friends. I have to admit I am not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, as I believe that you should express your love and cherish your loved one every single day of the year, not just one day.. Of course, I always get Luke a card, but I find it quite hard to buy gifts for him, as with it being so close after Christmas, and his birthday is three weeks after Christmas, and two weeks before Valentine’s – he’s pretty much had everything he wished for. Therefore, I always try to hand make something for him that he will still love just as much, and they always say..

“The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”

It’s quite true!

I spent all Saturday baking him some special heart shaped biscuits, and handmade heart chocolates, to which he has eaten almost all of them already! I find handmade items as gifts so much more personal, when someone has spent time out of their busy days to personally make you something special, whether it’s a card, a gift, or planned an entire day of activities – I treasure it forever.

I love browsing on social media to see what my friends have received and other people, bouquets of beautiful red roses are enough to put a smile on anyone’s face! Plus, roses are my favourite flowers.

I hope you have had a wonderful day, whether you have celebrated St. Valentines or not, it’s always a good reason for chocolate!
